FOR OUR CLASSES - STARTING FEBRUARY 5th


Why are we doing this? 

The purpose of this assignment is to learn about the Underground Railroad and
show that you can use in-text citations.

What are you doing? 
You will produce a one page (two page max. double-spaced) report with well formed paragraphs that would give a student a good reference on the Underground Railroad.


DOING THE RESEARCH
PART I - Using a Video

Watch the Crash Course video on Slavery in America.  Click Here

Start a WORD document (name it "UGR notes").
Copy the website link and write some notes on that page.

Start a WORD document (name is "UGR works cited").
If you need help Use this link 
This reference is also in your agenda!
ADD the video to the works cited list.



PART II: Using Your Textbook
Read the section for the Horizons Textbook pages 28 and 29.
Go to your Works Cited List and add this textbook.
Add notes to your " UGR notes" document.


PART III: Using an On-line Encyclopedia
Click here
Read the article.
Add it to your works cited list.
Add it to your notes document.

PART IV: An on-line resource.
Choose one on-line source to add to your project.
Remember to add it to your works cited list and create notes.


PART V: Creating Your Report
You will write your project in paragraphs and ensure that each piece of information has an
in text-citation attached to it.


PART VI: Handing in Your
* You must have a title page that contains;
 - Title of Assignment
 - Student Name
 - Student Number
- Course name and grade level
- Block
- Due date of the project
         
After your title page
* Your written report
* Works Cited List
* Notes from the sources used

Staple or paper clip the entire project together before you hand in it.
